Inside the kit you’ll receive 10 live adult native Australian ladybirds, ready to begin their short stay in your care. For one week, you’ll have the rare opportunity to watch these incredible insects up close, learning how they move, feed, and interact. During this time, they can be gently fed a small drop of honey to support their energy needs while in temporary care (complete instructions are provided).
After seven days, the ladybirds must be released into your garden, where they can continue their natural role in the ecosystem. This is where the real magic happens, you can set up a simple ladybird house or habitat shelter, giving them a safe place to settle as they transition into your garden environment.
Ladybirds are one of nature’s most effective natural pest controllers. In the wild, they play a vital role in keeping gardens healthy by feeding on aphids and other soft-bodied insects that damage plants. A single adult ladybird can consume around 50–100 aphids per day, making them an incredibly valuable ally for gardeners.
